Amanda Connolly

Amanda Connolly (LLB  BL)co-founded Connolly Finan & Co. Solicitors with Michèle Finan in August 2008 and this grew into Connolly Finan Fleming Solicitors in 2011 when Simon Fleming joined and she is currently the Managing Partner. Amanda practised as a barrister for several years before being entered on the Roll of Solicitors in 2007 and has over 15 years experience in the areas of criminal and civil litigation and her dual qualification makes her a skilled advocate and strategic trial lawyer. She has a particular expertise in the area of Administrative Law and Judicial Review proceedings and has a proven track record in challenging legislation in order to vindicate a person’s rights as enshrined under the Constitution.She also worked for several years in one of the big five law firms.


She recently successfully commenced proceedings by way of consultative case stated in the case of the Director of Public Prosecutions -  v -  Jeffrey Carter   challenging the application of suspended sentences which was upheld by the Supreme Court on 5th March 2015.

 

 

Michèle Finan

Michèle  Finan is a founding partner in the firm having joined established Barrister Amanda Connolly and later incorporating leading Solicitor Simon Fleming to form Connolly Finan Fleming. She has dedicated herself to the practise of Children's Rights Law for the past 15 years.  Graduating with an honours degree in Law from Trinity College Dublin Michèle  worked for a number of years in the firm Michael J Staines and Company before establishing Connolly Finan Fleming as one of the most effective and dynamic practices in the areas of Criminal, Human Rights, Family and Childcare law. 

 

Ms Finan represents many of the country’s most experienced Guardians Ad Litem who are experts in advocating for the wishes and interests of children in Court proceedings.  Committed to serving the most vulnerable in our Society, she litigates in the District, Circuit and High Court in pursuit of the promotion of children’s rights. She is well known for her expertise and pragmatism in this regard. Ms Finan is also a qualified Mediator and is a skilled practitioner in alternative dispute resolution.

 

 

Simon Fleming

Simon Fleming BA LLB qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has chosen to specialise in the area of criminal law since his qualification. Mr Fleming was educated at Clongowes Wood College OC 1998. Mr Fleming completed a BA degree in Law, Sociology and Politics and an LLB in Law at NUI Galway. Mr Fleming completed his apprenticeship as a solicitor at O'Flynn Exams in Cork City before moving to Dublin to practise criminal law. In January 2011 Mr. Fleming joined in business, as a partner, his colleagues and close friends, Ms Amanda Connolly and Ms Michèle  Finan.

 

Mr Flemings family have for many generations been employed in the legal profession. His grandfather Patrick D. Fleming practised as a Barrister at Law from 1934 until his death in 1968. His father Peter Fleming qualified as a solicitor in 1968 retiring in 2012. His brother David Fleming qualified as at Barrister at Law and was called to the Bar in 2007.

 

 

Paula Egan

Paula joined Connolly Finan Fleming in 2011 and qualified as a solicitor in January 2015 from the Law Society of Ireland. She has a B.A (Hons) and LL.B. (Hons) from NUI Galway. Paula has had a wide training in all aspects of Criminal Litigation and practice within the firm and works closely with Counsel in the preparation and running of our trial sections in the Circuit Criminal Court, Central Criminal Court and the Court of Appeal, as well as representing clients in the District Court.

 

 

Anna Bridgeman

Anna Bridgeman, solicitor, joined Connolly Finan Fleming in July 2016 and specialises in regulatory offences including road traffic offences and others, as well as advising in relation to Police Property Applications and Restoration of Drivers Licence. She has a proven track record in dealing with the most technical of cases. She appears in Court on a daily basis from the District through to the High Court. Anna graduated from Griffith College Dublin with an LLB (Hons) in Irish Law and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in January 2016, having completed her apprenticeship in a criminal defence firm.

 

 

Mary Geoghegan

Mary joined Connolly Finan Fleming in 2010 as a legal executive and works primarily in the areas of High Court Judicial Review and European Arrest Warrants.
She graduated from Marino College of Further Education in 2010 with a diploma in Business Studies (Honours).

 

 

Ciara Burke

Ciara joined Connolly Finan Fleming in September 2012 and is currently the Office Manager. Ciara graduated from Dublin Business School with a Legal Studies Diploma in 2010.  She also completed a Legal Secretarial Diploma in Pitman Training Centre, Swords in 2013. Ciara is currently preparing to sit her FE1 Law Society Entrance Examinations.

 

 

Declan Gilheany

Declan joined Connolly Finan Fleming in 2013 and works as a paralegal, he attends Counsel in the Circuit and High Court and is responsible for the running of the High Court bail section of our office.
